Borderline Cases: Pictures that Enlighten and Words that Deceive
For this project we learned about unaccompanied minors entering from the Northern Triangle (Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador). We also learned about all of the troubles immigrants, they have so much going, so many dangers that they want to escape from, their countries are corrupt they need to get away. The importance of this project was to learn about all the dangers that these people go through and I think it will really help us this upcoming spring for our Model UN project, it'll help us understand more about how hard it is to be a Syrian refugee.
The 5 essential questions:
1. Why do people immigrate to other countries?
2. What are the challenges they might face when entering a new country?
3. What is the difference between acculturation and assimilation?
4. What things are essential or necessary to achieve success in the US?
5. Is there an American dream? Is it for everyone?

My Art Piece.
Title: Timeless Essential: Is there an American Dream? Is it for everyone? When coming up with what I wanted to do to answer this question I immediately thought about the 50’s and how at the time the only way to have a “perfect” life would be to have a wife that stay at home and clean, another thing was to add a house with a white picket fence to it which also highly reminded me of The American Dream. |

Exhibition Night
Exhibition night was amazing, it was great to be able to display my artwork infant of all of our visitors and see if they would be able to see the message and significance behind my art piece, unfortunately I wasn't able to talk to any of the visitors but I got to take on the job of photographer which was just as great. On the night of exhibition I was so proud of everyone for all of the hard work they put into their art pieces, everything turned out beautiful, their work paid off.
