Nuclear Physics
For our Nuclear Physics project we had to come up with unique and different ways to teach each other about what nuclear energy was and how it works. For my unique way of teaching my class what nuclear physics was making a book that was based off of a book from the movie "Up" and the tittle of their book was "Our Adventure Book" which is where we got the name "Our Radioactive Book" came from.
Throughout this project we learned about the history of nuclear energy, ionizing vs non ionizing radiation, nuclear fusion, nuclear fission, and many disaster that have happened over the years. We learned that nuclear energy was first developed from 1895-1945. We also learned that the main focus was to use nuclear energy as an easier and money saving power outlet. We learned that ionizing radiation is really bad, while non ionizing radiation doesn't carry enough energy to cause any harsh damage. Nuclear fission is when the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts, while nuclear fusion is when two atomic nuclei collide at a very high speed and create a new nucleus. We learned about the Chernobyl disaster and got to speak to a survivor who is actually a teacher at our school.
I am very proud of this project because me and my partner Melissa did a lot of research and tried our best to make out book eye-catching, I had no trouble working with this person it seemed like we both wanted to have the same output and I think thats what caused us to be so motivated towards this project. I really wish we could've added more images and information because it all seemed to look squished together and un-orginized.
